Which format wins?
Every episode is recorded in one of four formats, and two are tested against each other at a time. Here is how they are doing.
| Format | Episodes | Avg min | Plays per episode, first 7 days | Listened through (web) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Riff testing now Loose, funny, war stories first. A long hang, not an interview. | 1 | 47 | 25 | 63% |
| The Deep End testing now Slow and deep: first principles, why it works, what it means. | 1 | 11 | 6 | 58% |
| The Sprint Thirty-something minutes, one topic, no filler. | 0 | - | - | - |
| The Marathon Two hours, the whole journey: origin story, the fleet, the new internet. | 0 | - | - | - |
A play is one listener (feed or web) per episode per day. "Listened through" is how far web listeners got, on average. Small numbers settle nothing; this page says so by staying boring until the gap is big.
